And Our Tale Continues…

Welcome back Beer Lovers and Brewery Geeks!

It’s been a while since we’ve put a post up about what we’ve been up to. Since our opening, we have been slowly decorating and adding new items to our Taproom. We wanted to re-start our “Recent News” to bring everyone back in the loop as to what new stuff is happening at 6th & Perry.

Final Inspections & Holiday Cheer

Happy Post-Thanksgiving to everyone, and we hope you had a great time with family and friends. As of Friday this past week, we have finished (mostly, still some minor details, but all final inspections passed) with construction and we’re ready (and waiting) to start brewing! Continue reading

Walls and Subs

It’s been a busy time at the building since our last update. Walls have started going up, and we’ve brought in some of the other sub-contractors to start work on all the various facets that need to be done. It’s starting to really look and feel like the idea for the Brewery space we had in our heads. But let’s lay this out in a more linear fashion: Continue reading

A Cut Below

We have officially broken ground!

After a long process towards this run-up to getting construction started, we have finally started finishing out the space to be what we want it to be! As I sit here watching the double-header of football on a Monday night I’m reviewing all that has happened in the past few days.

A Banner Day

Well, as some of you might have seen – We have a new Banner up on the location! Hooray!

This morning I got to the building to meet up with Joel and company from Image 360 in Littleton to get our banner up on the building. In the grand scheme of items, this one is fairly minor, but a fun detail that get’s the word out a bit more! Joel and his guys are also working on some ideas and designs for what will end up being the main signage outside, and a few other details for inside the taproom space. But, you’ll have to wait a bit on seeing those items.

Layouts and Permits

Well, it’s been a bit of time since my last post. I would like to apologize, and yet at the same time there hasn’t been much to update about. Let’s give you the run down here:

As was mentioned in our previous post, the design aspect was finalized at the beginning of July, and we started the engineering aspects of what we would need for permit drawings. The engineering took a few weeks and at the end of the month we got a final (or at least preliminary final) set of drawings that I was then able to start sending out to some of sub contractors for bids on total costs and such. While I wait for all the bids to come back in we also submitted the plans to the town of Castle Rock (basically starting the permit process) to see what notes or other items they would want us to adjust before fully moving forward with the permit. We started all this the first week of August, and some of this stuff takes time.

Paper Pushing and Designs

Well, first off – I hope everyone had a great and safe 4th of July weekend! We had a great time seeing friends from out of town, have great beers, eating way too much BBQ, and topping it all of with some great fireworks. All in all, a successful holiday weekend. But besides all the fun, we’ve been hard at work too moving ever closer to opening day.

Of Logos and Emails

If you’ve been following the blog since we first got going, you’ll have noticed a bit of a change to the colors and such. That’s because we finalized our logo (ain’t it pretty?) and that helped to drive the overall color scheme for the rest of the site.

Three Cheers and A Space!

A long road, but it’s now official! Castle Rock Beer Company now has an official lease on a space and we get to share it with you! Coming this Fall we will be pouring our first pints (and drink them as well) in the ‘Rotunda’ building in the ACME Water Tower Center on Perry Street and 6th in downtown Castle Rock! It took time to get the space and the details all worked out, but we’re excited about what will be our new home for the foreseeable next few years!

A Deal in Place

Well, it’s been a longer process than I had thought it would be, but it looks like we’ll soon have the actual lease deal in place! Exciting! Now, until the day we actually sign the lease I have to start getting some other items in place. This coming week I’ll be reaching out to an architect to begin preliminary design discussions for the final layout and such that we’ll have to submit to the city as well as the basis for what I’ll be giving to the TTB for their records. Once we have a better idea on the actual dimensions and such then I’ll be able to start getting bids on the work we’ll need done (Plumbing for floor drains and sinks; Electrical for lighting, refrigeration, brewing equipment and other amenities; Water supply locations for our sinks, brewing areas and such; HVAC for general heating and then some minor venting over the brewing equipment; and then Natural Gas for our tankless water heater). All in all quite a bit to get done, yet nothing overly massive in individual scope.
